Matt Schnappauf is a 26 year veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he held diverse assignments as an operator, in the Pentagon and on Capitol Hill.  He most recently served as the Navy’s Deputy Chief of Legislative Affairs and Director of the Navy Liaison Office to the U.S. House of Representatives.  In that capacity, he developed the Navy’s strategic engagement plan in support of legislative priorities and was a key advisor to the Secretary of the Navy and Chief of Naval Operations during two National Defense Authorization Act cycles.

 

Matt has extensive experience leading high performing teams, to include commanding a helicopter wing in the Pacific and a squadron deployed to the Middle East and Europe on an aircraft carrier.  In these roles, Matt sought to enhance electronic warfare, anti-submarine warfare and anti-surface warfare capability through various fleet experimentation and prototyping initiatives.

 

Matt is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and he holds a master’s degree in International Relations from the Naval War College in Newport, RI.  He was the U.S. Navy Hudson Fellow to St Antony’s College, University of Oxford during Academic Year 2015-2016.
