The Silicon Valley Defense Group and DLA Piper hosted a morning of conversation and connection exploring how new models of partnership and capital formation can unlock the next era of space innovation and defense capability.

Leaders of the tech and defense worlds came together at Stanford University at the SVDG co-sponsored Stanford DEFCON. Following the conference, SVDG hosted a policy salon dinner bringing conversations to light on the role of innovation in national security.

In this special edition of Arlington Economic Development’s Missions + Markets | National Landing series, SVDG shared insights from the newly released 2025 NatSec100 report with live demos from some of the most innovative national security startups operating in Arlington, VA.

At an event marked by frank and light hearted conversation about innovation in defense and dual-use, SVDG got to talk to the veterans leading the push for greater cohesion between innovators and end-users.

We held a talk with Sarah Mineiro to inform the government contracting strategy for early-stage founders in Techstars’ Space Cohort. She discussed what can be achieved with a small budget, and how to navigate government agencies and congress.

Last week, SVDG was thrilled to preview the 2024 Edition of the NATSEC100, sponsored by JPMorganChase, at their annual VetVC Summit in New York City. The summit afforded an amazing platform to discuss the need for public and private investment into emerging technologies that are critical to national security, with an inspiring groups of veteran founders and funders.

On July 20th, 2021, the Silicon Valley Defense Group convened leaders from traditional VC, corporate venture, and government-funded efforts to discuss how the Department of Defense and Defense Industrial Base can better leverage the venture community. The event was held at Stanford University, in partnership with the Gordian Knot Center for Innovation and National Security. A small group, consisting of members of both the venture community and Stanford’s academic community, was invited to attend the event in person. The event was also broadcasted via Zoom for the public as well.
