As the defense innovation ecosystem gathered in Austin for Tectonic, SXSW, and CapHouse, SVDG hosted Boots on the Ground, an invite-only evening that brought together an exceptional group of founders, investors, operators, and policymakers working at the forefront of defense and dual-use technology. Set against a beautiful Austin evening, the event drew an incredible crowd from across the national security innovation ecosystem, creating the perfect backdrop for reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones.

The evening was intentionally relaxed, giving guests the chance to step away from the pace of the conference circuit and enjoy good drinks, great company, and plenty of conversation. With leaders from across industry, government, and investment in attendance, the gathering captured exactly what makes the Austin ecosystem special: serious people coming together in a setting that encourages genuine connection.
