SVDG Presents: Taking the Vital Signs of the Defense Industrial Base

March 22nd, 2022

How strong is America's Defense Industrial Base (DIB) today? Where is it headed? How will trends in the DIB affect the venture ecosystem? How will economic drivers affect our national security?

In the past month, two major reports on the DIB have come out: First, the Department released a report on the State of Competition within the DefenseIndustrial Base, interpreted by some as a blistering warning over the consolidation of the competitive landscape in the defense industry. Second, the National Defense Industry Association (NDIA) recently released NDIA Vital Signs 2022 Report, a robust annual assessment of the health of the DIB according to a common set of indicators — vital signs — of America’s “sixth service”: the industrial partners who equip the military.

To explore the the debate over these crucial economic and military issues, Silicon Valley Defense Group (SVDG) is teaming up with NDIA to host a virtual event featuring the authors of the Vital Signs report. Please join us for a brief presentation, followed by a panel discussion featuring diverse perspectives on the current and future defense industry, and moderated by Josh Marcuse, SVDG Executive Board Member.
