Unlocking Europe’s Investment Potential

We were thrilled to be joined by a select group of investors and executive leaders from the European Commission, European Investment Fund, and European Investment Bank who are visiting the Bay Area. Specifically, we were incredibly honored to welcome the EU Ambassador to the United States, who offered opening remarks, as well as the Vice-President of the European Investment Bank, who also shared introductory reflections. Their participation helped frame the strategic transatlantic dialogue on defence and dual-use technologies that we aimed to foster during the evening.
The objective of the dinner was to exchange views on the rapidly evolving defence technology landscape, explore transatlantic investment opportunities, and identify pathways for deeper cooperation between the US investment ecosystem and Europe’s emerging defence and dual-use tech initiatives.
Both sides of the Atlantic are witnessing a historic surge in deeptech and defence innovation investments, driven by geopolitical imperatives and technological acceleration.
The United States has cultivated a dynamic ecosystem at the intersection of defence, dual-use technologies, and venture investment, blending private capital, corporate innovation, and government demand.
Europe, through initiatives such as Readiness 2030 and the EIC's efforts investing in dual-use, is deploying unprecedented resources to strengthen technological sovereignty and industrial resilience creating fertile ground for new partnerships and co-investment.
In this context, there is strong mutual interest in connecting the dots between the US venture community and the European innovation ecosystem that is increasingly open to transatlantic capital, expertise, and collaboration.
With a focus on deep tech and dual-use capabilities and ecosystem development, the dinner program featured conversation between U.S. and European policymakers, investors, and industry leaders.
